A walk during the day turns into a brisk run at night.
I often struggle to keep my eyes open throughout daylight.
But in the dead of night, I'm wide awake with both eyes open.
Crowds gather in the light then part and leave.
In darkness brothers band together as thick as thieves.
For daylight shields the mysteries twilight reveals.
All that glitters without light cannot be gold.
Quiet lips made silent after daytime stories told.
Beware the lies created with the bending of light out in the open.
Is it a wonder I feel safer at night in the dark?
Things become self-evident with no reflections, refractions, truths stark.
For light cannot hide the shroud darkness reveals.
