Enter Doubt

April 12, 2010 - 14:50

When you know
You just know
You believe you can
You are the man

You can do anything
You're like a king
You're someone great
People shouldn't hate

But then the moment comes
Like a quietly carrying hum
It gets louder and louder
You refuse to be a doubter

But what if you don't know
What if you're unable to go
You might be more than wrong
You don't even really belong

Your confidence chips and cracks
Everything you are and do lacks
You can't even hold your own
It makes you feel alone

Did you make the right decision
Were you wrong in your vision
How could you be so blind
If only you could rewind

Ultimately all you've done is fail
Your last check is in the mail
You built yourself up to fall
Now you're open with no walls

What if you're so far off the mark
You clung to false light in perfect dark
You're lost without a direction
All in the pursuit of perfection

In this moment you feel lost
The bill is due so pay the cost
What if you owe more than you have
Can you plug it in your nav

But it's not as bad as you think
Just swallow your pride and blink
Stay true to who you choose to be
Overcoming failures is the key

Are you better than the rest
Even if you're not the best
Do you have what it takes to last
Can you really make it past

Fear is the mind killer
Remember you're more than filler
Doubt is fear's ugly sister
Sent to spin your mind like a twister

Like all burdens it will pass
Just bear witness and fill the gas
It's a necessary moment, only brief
Let it all go with a sigh of relief
